A quick update.

Making less progress than I would like, but I figured I'd post some of the pieces I've got partially painted.

I'm going to be attaching the plates to a kind of shell of electrical tape that I can slip on over the leather glovesso I don't have to sew anything to the gloves themselves.

I have yet to do the arm pieces, and I'll post pictures of the helm as soon as I have the base coat of paint down.
The plates for the back of the hand; the ones on the left are the basic cutouts, and the ones on the right are folded and Mod Podged.
Ready to paint!

The first coat of paint.  Need to do another and then add some black acrylic for wear.

I've still got a long way to go between painting and attaching the pieces to the glove, but I'm still hoping it'll be done in time for Sunday.  Wish me luck!

Halloween's a brewin'... or something like that.

Thought I'd post some of the shit I'm working on lately (not the poetry illustration stuff, since I have not been working on that NEARLY as much as I should.)

But anyway, this year for Halloween I decided I would finally finish the Witch King helm I started for shits and giggles sometime in the summer.

In case you don't know who the Witch King of Angmar is, (shame on you, you're a bad nerd!) it's this badass lookin' motherfucker:

The helm still isn't finished yet, although IT should be ready by Sunday.  And in my usual spirit of biting off more than I can chew, I decided a couple days ago to start the gauntlets too.  No chance in hell I'll be getting sabatons or pauldrons done, so I'm not going to bother starting those.

Mostly this is because those gauntlets I mentioned have SEVENTY-SIX pieces between the two of them, not including the gloves I'll be attaching the armor bits to.

Here are some shitty webcam shots (since my camera cannot into batteries) of the gauntlet pieces.  Since I'm more or less completely broke everything has been made of old cereal boxes (many thanks to my roommates, who have unwittingly been providing them), Mod Podge (which is win), and masking and electrical tape.

Some thumb scales lined up all nice-like.

The first spray-paint coat on a thumb scale.  Wearing the awesomesauce gloves I'm using.

The knuckle pieces.  The one on the left is the basic cutout, the second has been appropriately sliced, folded, taped, and has a coat of drying Mod Podge.
I'm not using any patterns, just using photo refs and drawing patterns by hand.  I've been getting most of my refs from here, since these guys have an awesome recreation:

Music an' ting.

Okay so wandering around youtube the other day I came across this lady, who does piano covers of rock, metal and industrial songs she likes.
She's a professional pianist, and she writes and arranges the scores herself.  Definitely check her shit out.  Also, if YOU happen to be pianist, her sheet music can be found here on her personal website.

Dio ;-;7

Also this:

Actually not one of my favourites by NIN, but this one suits me... unfortunately well.

She also does some vidya music; at least, the Starcraft Terran theme. She's got LOTS of songs, so check it out niggas!

And lastly, here's that Techpriest I said I was working on. (Yeah, he's got >nolimbs as of yet...)
He's actually going on temporary hiatus since I'll be illustrating a poetry compilation for a good friend for her masters' (for a class taught by a Nobel Prize-winning poet, so BADASS!)

I realized too that I retardedly uploaded my last two pictures as JPEGs, so they look like ass and are full of artifacts.  HERP A DERP.  If I ever finish them, I'll upload them PROPERLY.

Anyways, I out.
PEACE.

Works in progress?

Feel like I should post something, since it's been a while...  however I have no *finished* artworks on my computer (mostly because I don't finish anything).  So here are a couple of things I've been working on.

Here's a Quarian;  wanted to draw one who had been living away from the Flotilla and had adopted a less traditional style of dress (now I feel like I'm talking outta my ass, but it's true).

And here's a character portrait I was working on a while back for my D&D group.  She's a Tiefling wizard (and not my character, for the record).

I really liked this when I started out - worked on it practically all night after work this summer.  Not so wild about it anymore though, which is why I haven't gone back to finish it.  It just seems so... flat?  I guess?  The light source is a little too ambiguous too.

At the moment, I'm drawing a Techpriest for no reason other than I fucking LOVE cyborgs of all kinds.  Don't play 40K or anything, just figured I'd draw a Techpriest.  Don't ask me.

Lates y'all.

I WARNED YOU ABOUT STAIRS BRO!!!!

I TOLD YOU DOG!

Every time I go down a flight of stairs, say, more than 6 steps, I picture myself falling down them.  Vividly.  And not like, slipping on the heel and bum scooting the rest of the way down.  I mean headfirst, landing on face, gory results kind of falling down stairs.

Anyone else do that?

Also got bored, did alignment test.

Chaotic Neutral- A chaotic neutral character follows his whims. He is an individualist first and last. He values his own liberty but doesn't strive to protect others' freedom. He avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges traditions. A chaotic neutral character does not intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy. To do so, he would have to be motivated either by good (and a desire to liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make those different from himself suffer). A chaotic neutral character may be unpredictable, but his behavior is not totally random. He is not as likely to jump off a bridge as to cross it. Chaotic neutral is the best alignment you can be because it represents true freedom from both society's restrictions and a do-gooder's zeal. However, chaotic neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it seeks to eliminate all authority, harmony, and order in society.

Alignment:
Lawful Good ----- XXXXXXXXX (9)
Neutral Good ---- XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (17)
Chaotic Good ---- XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (22)
Lawful Neutral -- XXXXXXXXXX (10)
True Neutral ---- XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (18)
Chaotic Neutral - XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (23)
Lawful Evil ----- XXXXXXXXX (9)
Neutral Evil ---- XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (17)
Chaotic Evil ---- XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (22)

Law & Chaos:
Law ----- XX (2)
Neutral - XXXXXXXXXX (10)
Chaos --- XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (15)

Good & Evil:
Good ---- XXXXXXX (7)
Neutral - XXXXXXXX (8)
Evil ---- XXXXXXX (7)

Actually I did THREE alignment tests and got chaotic neutral, true neutral, and (lol) chaotic evil.  This one seemed most accurate though.

Durr.

Public Service Announcement

Want your own shitty art?

Well, now you can have it... maybe.

I take requests, but keep in mind that I am a horrifically unreliable drawfag.

Cheers!
